7900GTX's Nowadays!!!

Hey guys i recently got my 7900GTX and the first time i ran 3dmark05 i got 10.5K then i ran it again and got 8.5K!!! Can Ne1 tell me what i should do and also my psu is 400W is tht limiting my GPU's performance??!?!?

That could very much so be your problem, depending on the power supply. What are the rails on that PSU? Also, what else is in your system. Drives, Add on cards etc...?

Well i have a dell computer so not sure the rails on the psu and i have 1 hd if 160GB thts pretty must it and 1 disk drive.

Just to be on the safe side, i would go to newegg, purchase yourself a 60 dollar 500 - 550 watt psu (preferrably a known name brand) and see if that helps your problem. If it doesnt, you just future proofed your computer for newer drives that may cause power issues later. If it does fix your computer then your a happy man.


Edit: Make sure that PSU has Dual 12v Rails (helps a lot)

I agree with Pauldh, you may of had some extra things running at the time. I didnt think about that, however i still think that PSU of yours could be bottlenecking performance. But of course thats just my two cents.
