.... there came a great David Wilson-Okamura <David

hope, crying:

what exactly does that do in two words? (for those of us too lazy to
check )
thanks!

If you have two computers, (I think it would work on one computer but it
would not be very practical).
You can have Flight sim running on one and google earth running on the
other.
This app will basically synchronize the two so that google earth will follow
your every moves, (and put your plane on the map).
It does the trick, and it can be very interesting to watch, it is just a bit
hard to setup. One would expect the installation to do everything for you,
(maybe I am just too lazy myself).

This really is fun. I set it up on the same computer that I run fs2k4 with.
I did use a second monitor however that I usually use for fsnav.
Setup wasn't that hard, simply follow instructions.
It slowed down the framerate 2-5 fps
There might be some bugs. I did get some errors when exiting fs, Google
earth and myfsgoogleearth, but that doesn't worry me too much because the
errors mentioned time-out probs with the server. Probably I have to exit in
another sequence.
Just first impressions, I don't really know if I'm gonna use it a lot, since
the 12-17 fps I have now is really a bit troublesome. But apart from that:
it really is a nice toy and my compliments tot the guy who made it!

Yes, on one computer the performance hit is too high for me too. Spread
across two computers, with FS on one and Google Earth on the other, the
load is more manageable.

Same connection losses with the server (as well on the same PC)
here. I think I will not use it too often but there are some spots
in the world crying for a second view.

One more tip: apparently if you downloaded Google Earth before Aug. 6,
you should get it again; cache performance has been improved. Pretty
easy to install over the old version; just run the new download and it
will perform the update.
