Does anyone know if there is a new line of cards coming out from ATI or Nvidia?

I am getting ready to purchase a new rig, but if the x1900 or GF 7900 is not going to be the top card come later this year then I will wait.

How do you know this? Is there any websites talking about the next gen card? So there is no doubt that it will not be release til 1st or 2nd quarter of next year?

I hate playing the waiting game because something new is always around the corner... unless it's something dramatic like Conroe or AM2 I don't suggest you wait. You can't really go wrong with either the 7900 or 1900 right now, they should be good for a couple of years.

If you're ready to spend a serious amount of cash on either of those cards, then you should wait until the GF 7950 X2 comes out... (It's the same card used in Quad-SLI configs, but retail :D )

Yeah when is the conroe or am2 coming out? I may wait just a bit. I want to do this right because it will be awhile before I can do it again.

Well how does the 7950 differ from the 7900? Does it have the issue of doing AA and HDR at the same time?

My current machine is a FX-51 with GF 6800 GT 256MB and 2GB of system memory with 74GB 10k Drive.

I should just wait til the new CPU and possibly GPU towards the end of the year. My current rig still runs games well just not everything turned up for games like F.E.A.R.
