Does anyone have any experience with the new XG Magnum External 600 PSU? I am definitly interested in this PSU for the fact that its external and it has decent power. But is it powerful enough for a 7900GTX SLI setup?
the magnum 600 has dual 12v rails:
12v1 = 18a
12v2 = 22a
Now I don't know whether the 22 amp rail is dedicated to just the graphic cards, but if it is then it should meet NVidias requirements for a high end SLI setup.
The 1900XTX uses about 120W...... So a good 500-600W PSU could X-Fire two of those cards..... keep in mind they can be loud cards.... due to the stock cooling on some of them.

10 amps per card at 12 volts more if you OC them....but one card will give you such high fps that your eyes will never notice if you have a 2nd card or not!
If it was me I would spend half the cost of that 2nd card on a real PSU...PC Power and Cooling 510-ASL (38 amps on 12 volts @ 50C unit temps...not @ 22C as all other PSU are rated).
If I only use a single X1900 XTX card then there really wouldn't be the need for a super high end power supply. I wouldn't compensate with extra hard drives or an FX processor. So in that case I would definitly be able to use this PSU.
The main reason I am interested in this PSU is because I will be using a Lian Li V600 case. The external PSU concept would work out well because then I will be able to use a better CPU cooler and it should decrease the case temp.
I understand that PSUs act as an exhaust for hot air as well, but my V600 has an extra 120mm fan installed on the top of the case to compensate.

Will this work to give power to my video card in a slimline s3707c , becasue there is no room in there to put a power supply so can i just use an external one
