I know that with a simple little adapter kit I can install my notebook drive into a 3.5 inch bay.

But, I don't want it hard installed, I want to be able to take it out easily and go with the notebook. I was thinking there has to be some 5.25 removable drive cage something or other that can do that directly aside from getting the 2.5 to 3.5 conversion and mounting it in a regular IDE hard drive cage.

Suggestions?

IDE/Notebook to USB adapter

Thats what I use. Its enclosureless, which comes in handy because the enclosures data and power cable tend to break if you are constantly poping drives in and out.

Plus you can use the power adapter to test fans, connect SATA drives using an internal IDE cable ....
