Where to go from X800XT PE? Please advise

Hi all. Thinking of upgrading my ageing AGP platform to PCIe. However I"m not about to spend a fortune on a new GPU at the moment. I will wait for the next gen. So, I need to sell my X800XT PE (hopefully for sth in the neighbourhood of €250-300) and get sth cheaper (around €200-250) but NOT SIGNIFICANTLY slower. I want to keep enjoying my gaming until I do a more high-end upgrade. Any recommendations?

PS. Those prices are in EUROS not dollars. Also, where I live the X800XT PE (AGP) can still be found new for €560.

  1. I'm not sure about prices on your side of the Atlantic, but a relatively cheap 7600 GT or X1800 GTO will perform on par with your X850 XT PE.

If you're not overclocking they're both pretty much on par, but if you're into overclocking the X1800 GTO is a monster...
  2. How about the one you're using, the X1800XL? Do you know how it compares to X800XT PE?
  3. The X1800 XL is notably better than an X850 XT PE.

Even better, if you can afford it, is the X1800 XT or 7900 GT. Once again, both of those cards are on par at stock speeds, but the 7900 GT kicks it old school when overclocked.

    or

you maybe able to change your mobo keep your current card for now then upgrade down the road.
  6. I'm thinking of the ASUS A8R32-MVP so my current card won't be compatible. Thanks though
