i currently have 256 mb of DDR RAM installed on my computer with bus speeds of 266 mhz. I am now planning to upgrade and add another module of 512 mb DDR RAM with bus speeds of 400 mhz. I would like to know whether the new RAM (with 400 mhz) would be supported by my motherboard - Intel Original D845GBV ???

Yes it is, memory is backwards compatible to the lower speeds.

You shouldn't need to, but you can set it in the bios to the rated speed for you motherboard also. 233mhz.

This will give you plenty of room to overclock also.

Memory Infomation.
