Hi,

I have a question about my mobo (Gigabyte K8NMF-9, search a picture on google, its completely passive with an nForce 4 chipset). It gives a BSOD and restarts inmediatly with the warmer weather. It did this last year too. Then I flashed my bios from version F1 to F8. And never had any problems with it since then. But just now i was gaming and it was about 27*C in this room, and it BSOD'ed again. My guess is, is this heatsink insufficient? If i touch the heatsink with my hands, it is burning hot (PCwizard show 47*C idle and 52*C under load :? ).

What can i do about this?

This are my system specs:
CPU: AMD athlon 64 3000+ (HSF: Zalman CNPS7000b @2600rpm)
Mobo: gigabyte K8NMF-9 S939
Ram: 1gb GEIL dual channel kit
Video card: Geforce 6600TD
Case fan: Zalman ZM-F2 (@2800rpm)
Power supply: HEC 350W
And a cheapo case, but with enough holes to get fresh air.

Thnx in advance.

your machine might have a few holes in it,but if you have no case fans then you have no way to move hot air out and fresh, cool air in.this is very important.go to the nearest computer store asap and buy at least two case fans.one to draw air in from then bottom front.and one to blow it out at the top back of the case.please do this and it should drop you about 5-8 degrees.

EVGA NF4 SLI READY MAINBOARD
ATHLON 4400+DUAL CORE
520 WATT PSU
WD 300GIG HD
EVGA 7800GT
2x1GIG SAMSUNG DDR400

PS;You'll probably find that your temps will drop more than 8 degrees

BSOD'ing can also be driver issues, if it does it when it starts up (after the bios, before the login), then it is most likely driver issues or conflicts
