I could be wrong here, but I think only Rev-304 i975x boards are confirmed to support Conroe as of right now.

correct. only the latest shipments of INTEL 975x boards will support it, and you'll have to bios upgrade when conroe comes out to get support.

or you could wait for 965 platform, which will ship with conroe anyway, and will probably be cheaper than 975x is, since 975 is billed as "for intel extreme edition." I think the 975x boards only support ddr2-667, which might be a drag in a couple months when the newer conroe boards support ddr2-800, too. just keep that in mind.

The i925XE doesnt even support dual-cores.
The D975XBX rev.304 is the board you have to get.
