LCDs get dead pixels after a while. Check your warranty / replacement policy to see how many dead pixels it has to get before you can get a replacement. I believe most vendors will replace it after 8 dead pixels.

ches111 Distinguished Feb 4, 2006 1,958 0 19,780 May 11, 2006 #6 Also, Don't EVER point at things on your screen with a pen or pencil.... Do you have children? Actually it is easy to manually damage most LCDs... Some come with a hard protective screen coating like Sonys and the Apple cinemas...
