Hi,
I'd like to ask you how to properly put on / take off the stock AMD cooler that comes with (in my case) a 64-bit Sempron 3100+.
According to the manual, the black swivelling handle side goes on first, then the non-handle side is pushed on, then the black handle is swivelled round to clip it into place.
I can't get it to work on 2 different motherboards (a Gigabyte and an Asus). The only way I can put it on is to push the non-handle side down with force, at which point the black handle refuses to swivel in any way whatsoever.
Taking it off is a dangerous exercise - I have to push the non-handle clip down with a lot of force, and then use a screwdriver to wedge the clip out from under t he hook it clips onto. This is obviously wrong.
Could someone describe to me (the silly AMD diagrams are quite rubbish) how it is MEANT to go in? It can't be my motherboard, since I can't get it on like the diagrams say on two different brands. It's can't be the cooler, 'cos I got it with the chip. So, it must be me!
help!
Thanks,
Asfand Yar
