I was wondering does anyone know a site where I can order 19' LCD monitors with 2ms or lower? With the lowest price? I would like them to be good gaming monitors also.

First off, why dual monitors? You realize that it's kind of pointless for gaming, as I've not run into too many games that will actually support it? Though, it is pretty cool (I used to run dual monitors, but for 3d art not gaming).

Secondly, 2ms is kinda hype. I have an LG L1932 which is 19", 1400:1 and 4ms and I have absolutely no problems gaming on it.

Thirdly, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6824116375

$270 out the door (so to speak). Viewsonic is an awesome brand so those should do you nicely.

Whats wrong with 2ms? Dual monitors is AWESOME for gamers if you know how to use them..........I can be playing GW or CS:S on 1 screen and be lookin up strats or maps on the other. Its faster and better. I also am going into advertising/graphics for college and It will just WORK OUT BETTEr. So you cant tell a difference between 2ms or 4ms?

If you are going to be doing that and you don't want to slow down your gaming FPS excessively I would suggest getting two video cards and plugging a monitor into each, this would require a MB with 2 - 16x PCI-e slots (commonly referred to as SLI capable MBs).

The Viewsonic VX922 is one of the best 19" LCDs available right now but I don't think you can go wrong with Viewsonic or Samsung.

You're right, there is nothing wrong with dual-monitors or 2ms. I'm just saying that you probably should not pay too much more for 2ms over 4ms, as you will probably not notice any difference. As I'd said, my 4ms monitor is doing just fine for me.

If you're planning to do graphics and so forth for school, then dual monitors is definitely good for you. I was just saying for strictly gaming, it's not the best. A lot of games (i.e. all I've tested it with) won't let you interact with the other monitor when you've got the game open, unless you alt-tab out (and many games don't support that either). I tried it with FFXI before and it just didn't work out...

I didn't say that they both had to be top end cards, get a good card for gaming in one slot and a low end card for your second monitor, you've read too many SLI and Crossfire threads...

Technically, you don't even need to get a PCI-Express x16 card. You could get a regular PCI card and it would work just fine. Of course, you're going to wind up paying just about as much for the PCI version, since they are a little harder to come by (does anyone even manufactur them any more?).

The only advantage to a PCI card would be that it would keep your x16 slot open for SLI/Crossfire, should you ever decide to go that route.

A couple of months ago, Dell had their 24" widescreen monitor for $799. It might be less now but it's almost a dual screen by itself! It's no where near a 2ms monitor but I've been running FEAR on mine at 1600X1200 and it runs sweet with a Nvidia 7900GT.

I agree with the above poster who stated that this 2ms stuff is hype. I gamed for years on my 17" Samsung 170MP with 25ms refresh and NEVER noticed any ghosting. It may be my 37 year old eyes, but I personally wouldn't go out of my way to find a display to eliminate what IMO is people's imagination. (then again I don't see the "color blurring" in DLP Televisions either...) BTW, the Dell monitor I mentioned is something like 12ms and again, I haven't had any trouble with FPS's

Besides with the 24" wide screen you can better do you school work. I can have two full 8.5X11" documents open "side-by-side" or turn the montior 90degs and read a full web page without scrolling. In addition, DVD's look just plain awesome on it. The wide aspect and shear size also give flight simulators a much better sense of motion IMO than a standard aspect monitor.
