I actually built this system last weekend and been reading tweak guides for it since. This weekend I will start tweaking and testing and testing and tweaking, ect.... It was quite easy to build and basic bios settings were pretty much in line with the last few high-end boards I have installed. I ordered Monday night from Newegg and was in my hands Wednesday afternoon(UPS believe it or not). Newegg rocks!
I heard it's real picky on RAM. I basically researched what a lot of other people who had the board were using and getting good results.
I especially like the distance between the Pci Express slots. I have an ABIT Fatal1ty in my other pc. The slots were so close my cards were getting cooked from lack of space and were artifacting. The heat between the cards was crippling my system. Most market cooling are a lot bigger than the stock on the EVGA 7800 gtx so that option was out.
When my 7900GTX arrives from EVGA step-up program(#33!!!) I will most likely water cool my rig. Although, I'm not currently using the Sli I am extremely satisfied with my new build and the board looks purdy too.
That's sweet, you're gonna have to tell us how it is. I have been eying those cards for a little while, though i was thinking of getting the one with 256 of mem. I think i might wait until they come out with one that has pci-x instead though, the more bandwidth the better. That's what i've heard so far about reviews, that its limitation right now is bandwidth from the pci slot. Let us know if that's a limitation as well, hopefully things like bf2 and hl2 are gonna have their physx patches out sometime soon as well, those are the two things i'm really looking forward to as well. Finally i can have limitless fun in gary's mod without the system crashing because there are too many objects, lol.
