Canon Pixma Range

I am getting terrible "Banding" from the Black Prints of my Pixma 5000..
Is anyone else experiencing this ,It happens mostly on Glossy Photo Paper.I
have already ran the clean cycle too,also can someone tell me the difference
between the BCI6&BCI3 carts,apart from being difference in size..they both
appear to have the same ink??

Which brand of paper? If it's not Canon, try the Canon paper or some other
brand. If it is Canon, ring Canon and ask them for help.

The BCI6 cartridge is a dye based photo black while the larger BCI3 series
cartridge contains a pigmented black which is used in non-photo
applications. The selection of which black is utilized is governed by the
application software and the type of paper selected.
Banding may be caused by not having properly aligned the print cartridges or
by some slight incompatibility with the type of photo paper (usually a
non-Canon type) you are using. If you are using one of the Canon Photo
Glossy papers than alignment is my guess. BTW, I have found the Ilford
Glossy Photo paper an excellent and lower cost alternative to the Canon Pro
paper for use with my iP5000.

BCI3eBK is pigmented black and is used only for text. The BCI6 carts
are used for photos. Are you using and have you always used Canon ink?
Did you put the right carts in the right slots? If you reversed the
blacks you might have the pigmented cart causing problems.

I see you don't actually own a Canon printer.

You can't reverse the blacks - the BCI-3e black is twice as wide as the
BCI-6 black.
