Bluetooth file transfer HP4150

Hi,

Can anybody tell me what the authentication check box does when you tap and
hold and select properties of a file transfer shortcut that has been created
for transferring files from another device? Surely the device that you are
transferring the files from has the selection for authentication?? I have
checked this box and left if unchecked to see if I can tell the difference
and it does not appear to make amny difference.

The shortcut was created by searching for bluetooth services on a device and
then selecting the file transfer service from the discovered decice, it is
then this device that decides if authentication is requied not the PPC so I
get the the need for the check box. Please help with offerings for its
function.
