Go to newegg and buy an Asus with a 955/975 chipset. As for the 2x, good luck finding a MB and P/S that can handle 40+ amps on the 12v.

With one CPU....

With a heavy load (100% utilization) on both CPU cores, the difference between standard clock rates and overclocking to 4.1 GHz is pretty dramatic. The resulting boost in performance comes at the cost of 216 W of actual power consumed!

When the Pentium D 805 is overclocked, the power consumption for an idle system (Windows desktop only) climbs to 88 W.

Those who may be concerned about the voltage regulators on their motherboards should purchase a board with an 8-phase regulator.

216*2/12 = 36 amps. There are additional loads on the 12v as well, so 40+ amps are needed on the 12v rail of the P/S.

If you want, I'll sell you an ASUS P5WD2 for only $299, plus a marginal shipping and handling fee. If you pay a small $230 installation fee, I'll throw in a P4 2.66 for free. Expect 4-6 weeks for delivery.

There is no 2x CPU boards mentioned there. :!:

Haha...either my sarcasm was too subtle or...

Ask yourself this, what socket type is the 805? Once you answer that, do a web search for motherboards and see what you find.

There can't be too many manufacturers who make a mobo with 2x LGA775 sockets, if any.

There are no dual socket 775 motherboards(or 478 for that matter). P4 and Pentium D are not dual processor capable CPUs...

Thankyou, I sometimes forget these CPU manufactures are not as good
as the Acorn Risc chip / MoBo THAT COULD MULTI-PROCCESSOR "ANY"
CPU in 1992.

Or is it that they find it convienient not to.

Think of this in 1985 Acorn had a 32 bit RISC computer that sweep the floor with mini-computers of that time, and was biting higher up.
Later on they put out an updated version that could take 5 cpu'S ALL DIFFERENT and use the floating point proccessor in any and all, use any and all to do computations.
At the launch of "Phoebe" the company stopped there was alot of scurring around and no more was heard. The company Acorn became a Intellectual rights company Element 14, which was bought by a Canadian Telecomunications firm. (a front for someone else.)

The CPU is manufactured by Intel, and in 2000, was quoted as being the highest production CPU on the planet.
