I was wondering on which card to get. I saw that the x1800xt was almost as good as the 7900GT at this siteand if the x1900gt is supposed to be way better than the x1800xt then why wouldnt it be way better than the Geforce 7900 GT?The Inquirer just kind of confused me because they basically said the 7900gt at just 450 core speed is a better buy then the x1900gt. Which one is better? Also, I dont plan on overclocking.

I think you need to look again at those performance charts in your own link. The X1800XT actually wins every game except UT2004(which means nothing at a 140fps to 150fps victory) if you look at the higher resolutions with eye candy, which is how must people would want to use these cards. Plenty of other reviews have show at stock speeds the X1800XT is slightly better than 7900GT, although both will win some games so it really comes down to what games matter most to you.
From what I hear, the X1900GT and the X1800XT will trade blows in games just like the X1800XT and 7900GT do. I'm not sure which ATI will come out on top. Honestly, I have no reviews to post about the X1900GT, but I am feeling all three of these cards are so close it's hard to pick a winner. I hope I heard wrong because I'd like to think there is a new clear sub $300 winner. IMO stock speeds X1800XT >= 7900GT overall, but overclocked that could flip. Not sure where the X1900GT will place.
Actually I have to thank you because that is the first review I have seen on the 256MB X1800XT. I expect only a rare differnce under games such as COD2, but Too bad the 512MB wasn't thrown in for comparison.
An excerpt from their conclusion that seemed appropriate:
"In texture-heavy games, the Radeon X1900GT can sometimes be slower than the GeForce 7800 GT...In newer, shader-intensive games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Call of Duty 2, the Radeon X1900GT delivers a very good gaming experience in comparison to the GeForce 7900 GT. This is particularly the case in Oblivion, where the Radeon X1900GT is able to deliver a better gaming experience than XFX's superclocked 7900 GT XXX Edition"
This is what I ran into with the card I bought. It all seems to boil down to which game you want to play. I wanted to play oblivion, so I ordered ATI.
