Memory that was installed is ( I don't know if this is right) samsung 1GB (2x512) DDR 184-pin PC 3200 (200mhz) DDR-400 ( it has 2 slots left) ? is what do I look for when buying more...just the PC3200 or the DDR or the (200mhz) or the 184 pin....never brought memory before don"t know what to look for...just a noob.....

I'm going to presume that you have a computer that was prebuilt by a large company like Gateway or Compaq. Correct me if I am wrong. If not what brand and model is it?
What I can tell you without knowing the answer to the above question is that you need to look out for a few things:
1. You want DDR memory and not DDR2
2. PC3200 = DDR400 = 200MHz They are all equivelant.
3. If you get DDR ram (not DDR2) that is not notebook memory then you don't need to worry about the number of pins. Notebook memory is often called SO-DIMM memory and will have 200 pins and will be on much shorter circuit boards.
