I was hoping that I could draw on some the knowledge and experience of the users of this forum.
I have recently purchased a DFI Lan Part UT nF4 SLI-D motherboard in cunjuction with an AMD opteron 144 & geforce 7600 GT and am having real problems getting the system working. Everything has been installed correctly and tripled checked but once I boot up all I see is a quick text overview of the graphics card and then it drops onto a DFI splash screen and hangs.
I can't get to the bios or get the machine to react at all. I'm a bit stuck, any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've tried using a single stick of RAM with no luck.
I've taken the motherboard out and running it on it's bag to ensure it's not being shorted out by the case. I've dropped it to the min stuff I can have in (CPU, one stick of RAM, graphics card). It is still hanging at the DFI splash screen and I can't get to the BIOS.
Add, I wonder if your experiencing the cold boot issue that's somewhat common with these boards? If you've tried evertyhing else, try disconnecting the plug to your psu, wait approximately 1 minute and reconnect the plug. Try booting again...and if unsucessful, repeat the procedure. I have been having issues with this on my Venus, where the system will power on and then... nothing...just the fans running but no post. After several times of unplugging and replugging, the system will boot normally. Just a thought...

hmm, since the power is all correct, i would also suggest to clear the cmos. but dont just use the jumper for a few seconds, take off the jumper and then take out the battery for 20 minutes, put it back in, and put back the jumper. exactly in this order. dfi's bioses are tricky to completely reset, i know personally...
