Hey guys I don't know if this is the appropriate place to post this topic in but I really need all your help.

I've just bought a new harddrive (hitachi deskstar) and I set the jumper settings for master on the back of the hdd. When i startup the computer, it manages to display the new HDD as master and everything seems fine. But its stuck at the same screen and when i hit DEL to enter bios i can't even enter bios. Its just stuck with the startup screen (the one displaying mobo, cpu, ram, etc). But when i try it with my old hdd i seem to be able to enter bios.

Could someone help me with this problem? Thank you for your time.

My guess is that the BIOS HDD parameter is still set to the old HDD.

Pls. use your old HDD to enter BIOS and set HDD detection to AUTO.
Save the settings and power off. Then try it with the new HDD.

if for whatever reason you can't use the old drive (sold it already.... destroyed it... etc.) i'm pretty sure many newer bios' will default to auto-detecting the hard drive if you move the appropriate jumper on your motherboard to reset the cmos data...
