Setting up a RAID array

I've decided to set up a RAID array in the computer im building the end of this month. The motherboard im buying is the Asus A8N32-SLI.

I have a Maxtor DiamondMax 9 160GB Drive, but can't find it anywhere to buy. If i buy a same-sized Maxtor drive, will it be compatable in a RAID Strippping array? (The model i have is something like 6Y160M0, but not 100% sure)

Also, is it worth it for a gaming machine?

Look up some game loading time benchmarks and you will likely decide that RAID 0 is not worth the hassle for gaming use.
