XP to Vista to 7 ?

I have a question if I say I clean install XP SP3 home on a computer and activate it then upgrade to vista then when that's done upgrade to 7 will I need a key ?

You can "upgrade" from XP to Win7. You'll need to start over from scratch, but you can use the upgrade disk. Cheaper then buying all that.

Agreed, go straight from XP to 7. Install XP, activate it, then do a clean install of 7.

Don't need to upgrade to vista.
Just XP >> 7

No. Microsoft is having a sale and everything is FREE.....DUH...of course you have to have a key. LOL

Haha yea one could only wish the reason I asked is I have my main computer it came with Vista and I got a disc from HP directly for Windows 7 it came with a key but I never used the key I reinstalled vista fresh then did an upgrade and it never bothered me for a key.

How long ago was this? You may find that Windows 7 starts bugging you to activate it, at which point you have to enter the key.

I installed windows 7 on my main computer like that twice last year. This year I reinstalled again and did a clean install and at that point I needed the key that came with the upgrade. Don't ask why I have been a reinstall junkie, it's very stupid.
