Ooh... best so far, nice one. Mine is worst  Can i just ask a stupid question, do fast hard drives (10krpm), eg. My Raptor, improve your 3DMark score better than average 7k drives or is there no difference? Cause if so then my score should be way higher....

From what ive seen 06 gives way too much points for dual core like 1500 more.

I got 7200 in the test and ive compared to some guy with 8800 and we had the same exact frame rate in the game tests, he just had a dual core cpu. Its kinda stupid to give dual core such a bonus i think.

my rig
a64 4000+ @ 2900mhz (stock cooler)
2gig dual channel patriot (2.3.2.5 CR1)
Asus a8n32-sli dlx
2x evga 7900gt (540/1600)
84.56

I ran both test on quality settings in the driver so i didnt really push it...

I cant link 2005 because i have a "legal" copy of it.

Not sure the dual core is
a bonus. I expect the dual cores are actually doing something to help in this case. However, I agree these are synthetic tests. But they are standardized. Can't do that with F.E.A.R. Everyone would have to run at the lowest common settings. Not what we want. Besides, this is more about you improving your own scores, and to give you a rough idea of what others did to improve theirs. The point is
 JUST GET THE FPS PLAYABLE
No matter what you do, there is someone out there just waiting to beat you, probably tomorrow.

Obviously your dual 7800GTX's will perform better in Doom 3, but the X1900XTX has no problem running 16x12 4x/16x in doom 3, so it's no slouch by any means. I hardly see that as a place to boast about SLI beyond showing that the SLI setup just doesn't flinch at what D3 can throw at it. Shoot, the two solution are about tied at 10x7, but the SLI setup hardly skips a beat moving up to 16x12, where the top single cards do drop off while still averaging over 60fps.

But something like COD2 your SLI 7800GTX's should make a real useable difference as no single card can crank the res at max detials in that game. In Oblivion, a single X1900XTX does better than dual 7900GT or Dual 7800GTX, but not better than dual 7900GTX. (Of course Crossfire is the way to go for the best Oblivion experience.) Besides that, I can't see too many games where a single X1900XTX is outdoing dual 7800GTX, so I'm not sure what games he was refering with that comment. Of course, I doubt you spent less than $500 on your SLI setup, so single X1900XTX or XT is a better way to go IMO.

Hey guys, i was just wondering is it normal for your 3DMark06 score to drop as you load more things on to your system?

Yes. Think about it. There is more stuff "going on" to compete with 3dmark.

Try turning some of that stuff off while you test, you will see it go back up.

my score is around 5800 with an opty 170 at 2.5 and x1900xt stock. i think my card is one of the worst clockers ever, it gets artifacts at x1900xtx speeds, not really complaining about 4fps though... it gets hot too, 80c in ati tool and high 70s in games, with an accelero x2 nevertheless.

How the hell did i get only a 2086?!?!?!!?!? ITS REAL GAY

Here are my specs, this pisses me off.

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ oc'ed @ 2.82GHz
Connect 3D X850XT
Maxtor 300GB SATA
1 gig OCZ Gold PC 4000
500 watt Ultra PSU

every time i try to go to 2.94 or 3.00 GHz when i overclock, my mobo resets the clock but keeps the higher voltages, i think i need a new cooler cus im running stock but it is only getting up to 51 degrees celcius under load, i know that is quite hot so dont say im stupid. next upgrade is another gig of ram and a new water cooling system so i can hopefully get to 3.2GHZ or better. :D
