I have a really quick question.

I am in the process of purchasing a DFI CFX3200 with an Opteron 165.

I will be overclocking the PC and I am not sure which of these two I should buy.

Corsair XMS (2x1GB) DDR 400 $188
or
OCZ Gold (2x1GB)DDR500 $189

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

DFI specs for this board only list memory up to DDR400. I'd probably stay with that. Thus, in this case, the Corsair. Although my personal recommendation would be to go with OCZ Gold in DDR400.

thanks for your help

I jsut found this on NewEgg

OCZ DDR400 Titanium $169 after rebate

Better deal than the two I mentioned earlier.

Timing: 2-3-2-5
Voltage: 2.6V

compared to the other two
OCZ
Timing: 2-3-3-8
Voltage: 2.8V

Corsair
Timing: 2-3-3-6
Voltage: 2.75V

Good deal. Go for it, and have fun.

They are both good and also the platinum one, as they are good for overclocking. I personally have good experience with the Corsairs during overclocking my system, but that's just me.
