My system:
A64 3500+, AN8-SLI SE, 2GB RAM, 7800GT SLI, Dell 24" widescreen

Because of my nice big screen, i get all sorts of frame rate probs in games (native resolution 1920x1200).
Currently playing 'Condemned'. Sometimes frame rates go as low as 15-20, although often they are at around 30. Still, 20 is too low to be fun. So I overclocked the 7800GTs to 450MHz core (from 400), and memory to 1010 (from 1000). And yet, not a single frame more! How annoying! Surely can't all come down to the CPU, can it?

thats not a big enough OC to matter

you can probably get that GPU up another 25 or 30 if you raise voltages

you can probably get that memory up another 100 with voltage and cooling

obviously you need to be running at least an aftermarket cooler on that card and sinks on each chip

i have an x800pro (don't laugh)... its 35% overclocked and now it flies in everythign at 1600x1200, im using watercooling and a TEC on the GPU as well as individual heatsinks for the memory, strategic placement of fans allws for the heatsinks to be actively cooling instead of just passive

get it cooled well and you can really start cranking down on that card

2x7800GT's SLI'd is a powerful graphics setup, and YES, that 3500+ @

stock speed is quiet likely bottleneck your setup. You might want to do

some overclocking on your CPU. Don't bother O/Cing the GPU's if they're

bottlenecked...waste of your time. The fact that the GPU overclock, though

minor, didn't do anything is a good sign that it's CPU bound. :?

I dont like that a chip that runs at a respectable 2.2 is a bottleneck
