Another question about hooking up old hard drives

Now that I have figured out what I can do about old harddrives with a new computer, I had another question. What would happen if I hooked up a Ultra ATA 133 hard drive to a motherboard that only had a ATA 100 connection? Would the only thing that would happen be a decrease in speed? All the mother boards that are now out only have the ATA 100 connections from what I see. Thank you in advance for any help.

  1. There is NO speed difference betwwen an ata133 drive and an ata100 drive. Its all marketing hype.
