ATI 9600 Pro to a ATI X1600 Pro?

I don't know alot about the different types of cards made, I do alot of racing gaming, if I went from a 9600 Pro to a X1600 Pro 256 MB would that be a pretty good upgrade?

Is that X1600 card better or worse than a EVGA 6600 GT 128MB DDR3 AGP card? This is on a AMD 2400 1GB memory..

A decent upgrade, but a 6600 GT is better than an X1600 Pro at pretty much everything, the 6600 GT is a better bet.

If it was an X1600 XT it'd be on par with the 6600 GT, maybe a bit better at some things even.

Also see if you can score a dela on an X800 GTO, X800 PRO, X850 PRO, X800 XL, 6800 GT, 6800 GS. Those are all better than the 6600 GT/X1600 XT, and might be reasonalbly priced, especially if you can find 'em used.
