XFX 7900GT question

I just bought a XFX 7900GT and I then i wanted to overclock the card like i did with my old 6600GT AGP so i downloaded coolbits reg hack and as i was looking at the memory and core speeds they were not as was published on the site i bought the card from and the main XFX site.

Memory type - 256-bit GDDR3
core clock - 520Mhz
Memory clock - 1500Mhz

but in the 7900 GT properties under clock frequency settings it says:

core clock - 520Mhz
which is fine but my memory says
Memory clock - 750Mhz

the max overclock on the memory is only 900Mhz, i losing half of my memory speed and when i over clock it to the max i'm still losing 600Mhz

i was thinking maybe its not getting proper cooling but i have a Zalman VF900 - CU video cooler with memorty coolers included and my temps are around 36-40c

And i also have the newest nvidia drivers installed along with the newest bios and chipset drivers

It is fine. 750MHz = 1500MHz DDR.

In the old days of SDR 750MHz = 750MHz. But DDR work on the up and down cycle (think of a Sine Wave), 750MHz up, 750MHz down.

that is correct...it's like 750X2=1500MHz...but try to raise the GPU freq. to about 540-550...that' will show more performance...btw 900x2=1800 THAT HIGH MAN ??? 1800MHZ... 8O :twisted: :twisted:
