Different stepping by looking at the chip/box?

I ordered 2 of these chips, both have the spec SL8ZH but one has codes ending with /05B and one with /05A on the chip; is this the stepping?

I'm confused because the article points out that BO is newer than AO; the chip with /05A has an April 06 date, the chip with /05B has a Feb 06 date.

Thanks

the codes 05A/05B are for platform compatibility guide! the Core stepping is B0 and is better than A0...

Platform Compatibility Guide for this processor is 05A.

Thanks!

Is it possible to tell which stepping you have by looking at the chip / box?

well its usually written on the box itself... also you can read that last 5 characters of your boxed product order code... in ur case that would surely be SL8ZH... so when u've read it goto http://processorfinder.intel.com/ and enter this into the sSpec No. field it will show you the details of that particular processor from where you can compare the details of your boxed processor!

i think its also written on the cpu chip itself...

Thanks again, that answered my question!!

As for the /05A on one of my chips, the printing on this chip is realy crappy, I'll take a better look under a mag glass.
