I'm a bit behind here on handhelds. I have one of the 4 yr old
S300's, and it has bitten the dust. (Won't take a charge)
I would like to move to PocketPC (I think),and am looking at maybe a
used X5 Axim on ebay. Is this a good entry level to start with, or
should I look for another model? (I kinda like the $100-$115 price to
try PocketPC)
I primarily use my Sony for address', calendar, and card games, while
sitting at the airport or on a plane.
I have 802.11 in the house, but have a notebook that I use for that.
Should I look to spend more and get wireless on this model or another?
I would appreciate any and all opinions and feedback on this.....

The X5 is a very good device - make sure you get Pocket PC 2003 on it
or see if Dell still sells it. They came with Pocket PC 2002 on it but
for $25-40 Dell offered an upgrade.

The X5 is a power users Pocket PC - SD slot, CF slot, lots of memory,
horsepower etc. A such, it is a bit on the big size. If you are
primarily looking for basic PIM features and a more than competent
device, look for the HP iPAQ 1930-1940 series. Still quite powerful
but much smaller. I think those models still hold the record for being
the smallest Pocket PC and in a few dimensions, beat the old Palm V
series. The 1910 is good too, but it has Pocket PC 2002 on it and
there is no way to upgrade. The 1930+ series have 2003, which is
faster and more stable.
