Seriously, I plan to use it with my computer. but also mainly as my TV.
I will have, as a promotion by the cable company, a free HD decoder and access to HD channel free for one year. That's my first "big screen TV" and my knowledge is not up to date with these product.
If you have one, or have some experience with them, did I make a good choice?
You'll be limited to 1024X768....if you plan to use it for Gaming you'll be stuck with a bordered screen as Panorama mode throws off perspective wildly... I tried my wide screen that way & it sucked...Good for movies though *shrug* but a $39 dvd player works just as well for that purpous...

The resolution is 1920x1080. I guess that if I use it as my main computer display, I'll have the full resolution. But I intend to use it as a clone to my main computer display(lcd 1280x1024) as I do now with my 27" tv set, with theater mode enabled in ATI display driver.
I guess that I will have to get an HDMI compatible video card to fully use its potential...
The major comment that I would make is that you paid a good premium for the 1080p capability on this monitor/TV. If you wanted 1080p for the higher native res for computer usage, then you made the right choice. Right now there is no content that is being broadcast in that format and no current plans to transition to it because of bandwidth issues. So...if you got the 1080p for TV, then you could have saved yourself some money by going with a 42" Panasonic plasma or spent a few dollars more to get the Panasonic 50" plasma. I will say that I've owned a couple of Toshiba TVs and have always been very happy with their products. As i've often heard you say - Enjoy your purchase!

I planned to use it with my computer so the need for better resolution. I could have buy a plasma, but they are not really suitable for computer usage.
I've paid 2,299$+TX. around 2650$. That was about 400$ more than a lesser resolution. I was surprised of the price, because most of the one I saw were around 3000$+tx.
With my wireless keyboard and mouse, I guess that I will have fun with my computer and a such big screen that has better resolution than my current 19inches LCD..
Enjoy the set! My Toshiba HD is going on 4 years old without a problem. In Consumer
Reports Toshiba is generally the top or near the top for reliability for TV's. The
big picture will be cool, although I do agree with Rugger's point. The HD projector
I just ordered is only 720p, but roughly $3500 less than a comparable 1080p one.
My plan is to use it for 2-3 years then switch to 1080p when there's content and
they're much cheaper.

Again, enjoy!
I agree that 720p is enough for TV, but as a computer screen, that's really not enough. And since I'll use it about 50% of the time for computer thing, then the need was there for me. And at 2300$can, It was not really more expansive than 720p flat screen I saw before. I never owned a Toshiba product before. But that was I heard too about reliability for TV.
I was thinking about a projector too. but I don't have the room to fully enjoy it. 42" is about the maximum I can get in my place..
