I'm not a gamer, but my friend is and he's asked me to help him build a new system. He just got into WOW this year and is looking for a system that can handle it pretty well, but is definitely on the cheap side of the gaming machine spectrum (looking to go about $650 total). Here's a list of the parts he found and sent to me. I have a feeling I know what you're going to say about a few of these items, but please recommend alternatives if you can, remembering we're trying to go big bang for a few bucks.

Not included is the hard drive and RAM. PLEASE RECOMMEND RAM!

I clicked the link for that motherboard and something sounds shady... they list the board as supporting DDR, but you scroll further down and it gives you the option to select DDR or DDR2 memory for that board. Why are you even ordering from that company in the first place? Most people here would recommend NewEgg or ZipZoomFly if you're in the US.

If you're not looking to overclock or your budget is too constrained, most people here are going to recommend some cheap value RAM. That said, just buy a matched pair like this

I just Googled that board and it does support DDR, but not DDR2... if you're ok with that, the above memory should work fine. $83 for a GB kit isn't terrible.
