I'm reading them
Thank you for taking the time to post them 8)
Awesome the x800gto is a nice card why do you hate it so much?
| Quote : I'm reading them |
It's not a problem; it's not like I write the cartoons
. There's a whole archive dating back to 2002; it's a very good way to kill a couple hours.
**update**
I just installed this card into my own rig to test it, and ATiTool is showing massive artifacts @default speeds. I dont know whether there's a contact issue with the cooler or what, but this card is going back to newegg on monday.
What a disapointment
You never know what you're going to get when you order online...

Really? I live across the street. I'm watching you.

That's a scary thought. If I were GW, I'd move away quickly.

I don't trust "Mail-in-rebate" after my previous experiences.
I hear that. We've learned to keep a file of all MIR docs photocopied. what a pain in the butt.

Be careful what you wish for. Three of them nearby closed unexpectedly and the dude closing them up claimed the closings were due to employee theft. Seemed odd that all three of them had employee theft problems. A little later, I was on business in Lynnwood, WA and noticed that their PC Club store had closed. I asked at the nearby CompUSA if they knew what was up with that and guess what? I was told that they had employee theft problems. I'm still waiting on three PC Club MIRs and they are unresponsive. The bummer is that the PC Club store a mile from my house had a crew of really excellent employees. They openly shared info even when they knew you weren't there to buy anything. They were passionate about computers and stuff like music, digital audio and video - stuff that we use computers with. I don't believe they were thieves.
I think it's dishonest management.

Me too - mid to upper management as opposed to local. I used to do security for a mall department store so I know that employee theft is a big problem. But to close four stores? Who knows, maybe more were closed that I didn't hear about. Regardless, if an employee is stealing, you choose between prosecution, termination and education. And you deal with the employees doing the theft. It's really not so hard to catch people with today's surveilance cameras, etc. Want to bait a computer store thief? Not too hard to do.

why dont you just go pci-express and buy a x850 xt? it would be like what 30 bucks more after you find a cheaper mobo.
That was PCI-e he bought and the X850XT is quite a bit more money. It's safe to say at X850Xt prices he would buy a 7600GT and OC the daylights out of it. Also, the Asrock mobo is pretty cheap, but feature rich anyway. Hard to save much on S939 over that mobo. And he already has one; why not stick to it if he's happy with it. I know mines been fine and I'd buy another one.
the x850 xt beats the 7600gt in almost all tests and i dont think you can oc the 7600gt insanley(what 650/1200?) plus 7600gt is 185 w/o rebate(cheapest) and 165(with rebate) if you want to wait a couple of monthes. and thats what ive been looking for(a cheap pci board) cheapest board non-refurb is 49.99 lol but i know he already has the mobo so it dosent matter. have fun, i cant wait for my x850 card 8)

From the benches I've seen they look pretty neck and neck, each one beating the other in different benches, and never by all that much...
