I have an older rig I've been gaming on for a few years ... MSI KT3 Ultra Mobo (only AGP 4 support), GF4200, AMD 2000, 1gb ram, etc.
I've seen the game on a 6600GT and was quite impressed (of course the system was PCI-E, 2gb ram, faster cpu etc).
I'm sort of at a pinnacle of a decision point here:
upgrade path 1) Go replace mobo, cpu, and vid card.
upgrade path 2) Buy a 6600gt, 6800 or 7800 (or some ATI card, although they have had notorious crash bugs in WoW) as a bandaid, and wait a year (or so?) for DirectX10 or whatever 'next gen' bus/standard takes over.
Is AGP 4 to AGP 8 a big step? Am I really gimping an AGP8 video card by only running it at AGP4?
