Happy Birthday, RichPLS!!!
Turns 39 today...

Here is my Christmas present...

Which turned into an upgrade for my Birthday... (pic is at Christmas morn waking up...)

Such a nerd...

Celebrate with me by refraining from uselessly dogging out someone today or inserting sarcastic FUD...
And remember the original intent of Tom's Hardware as it was meant to be...

Why don't you look "really" happy? Reason I ask is because it's a happy time and you don't seem really "happy".

Yeah, but I refuse to install it!!! Sometimes original code is best...Yes, Now iAgree with you. (I've got 22-23 years to go until I'm outdated). But I've Heard that God had Bundled that Patch Fix with "Genuine Advantage Validation" Add-on. So It Might Give you some Trouble passing that check :p

Oh, I was stoked... It was early morn, before I had finished my coffee, and less than 3 months after Katrina took out my 2 story workshop in the back yard, lost most of my valuable tools and equipment, and two rooms damaged in my house...

BTW, I couldn't help noticing you're using a Dell keyboard on that sweet rig. What gives?

It's just a keyboard. I'm using an HP keyboard and mouse on my sweet (I wish) rig (at least it's better than yours :p ). As of right now, Rich only has 364 days left of being 30-something. I hope I'm never that old.

You refuse to install it because it's the "Genuine Advantage" crap, and they'll find out that your OS is pirated :) . Happy day-after-birthday

  @ hawk.

Happy B Day Rich.

I've heard at 40, life starts... but I could be wrong.

I'm only 2 years from 40.

Sorry to read of your property lost on Katrina.

Do you know how outdated you would be if you were a computer? You must have Vacuum tubes under that hat!

J/K. Happy Late Birthday. Have a great year.

Hehe, unlike some other posters, his head is'nt the vacuum tube

From what I am told by my musician friends, there is nothing better at sound amplification.

Even for stereo systems (as opposed to live music amplification) the high end tube amplification is extremely good. And expensive. For rock guitar, I still am a Marshall fan. 60 watts, 2x12", Strat = killer!

TSL60? As far as Marshall's go I only really like JTM45 (Plexi and Bluesbreaker) and I'm quite partial to those 70's Master Volume JMPs.

Expensive stereo doesn't always mean good. But it does help a lot of the time.

I like that plexi too. And yes, TSL60. I still love'm. Not sure my neighbors always have.

Tubes in home audio gear pretty much either means expensive or lovingly maintained old gear. I grew up helping my father assemble Dyna kits and other tube gear. Nowadays, Manley, for example, is really excellent gear but even if I could afford it, I'm not sure I would buy it. Sorta like quad SLI. I do have an Audio Research tube preamp but am not even using it now. A Musical Fidelity A308cr took its place...

Uhhm, you lost me at expensive stereo = good.

Maybe because that's not what I said.

Uhh, it was a joke?

I am not an audiophile and my Panasonic 5.1 Home Theater system is good enough for me.
