Ya i like diablo to, but i have still to find a good game that has more of the good qualities of the diablo series than the bad qualities of the cookie cutter society. I'll alert the press when i do : )

What about Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate, or The Bards Tale?

nope, nope, and nope. havent played neverwinter nights friends said it was boring, baldurs gate is way more complex than the simple hack and slash diablo, and bards tale is more like fable...which is not like diablo...

I dont know, I thought Neverwinter was pretty damned fun. I dont recall doing much other than going around killing stuff, lol. It did have a story plot but I dont think it forced you to follow it directly like an fps game plot. I know the multiplayer was pretty much just hack and smash, lol.

I've heard Neverwinter Nights is a great game. I'll buy it when I upgrade. Its too bad Intel thinks hardware T&L is garbage.

yes the one with an asus mobo and non exsistant apg slot. It was free so dont yell at me LOL.

Yes, there is more substance and character development in Neverwinter Nights than Diablo2... but if you want a Diablo 2 hack and slash clone using nice 3D graphics, do try Dungeon Siege... DS2 just came out, so the origional game must be cheap now...

ds2 is a little too simple in the controls of the character... it is easier to learn than D2, but harder to master.... it is, however, a very good game. Now if i could just figure out why am i getting these damned unable to connect messages.......

And if your system is not up for Dungeon Siege, give Darkstone a try... I had a lot of fun with that game when it came out... I got that when I was waiting for Diable 2 and Icewind Dale to come out... it must be selling for $2.00 on ebay... it, too, was a Diablo clone...

I agree I have baldurs gate, and stopped playing cause of the non-simple hack and slash you mentioned.

Mate, 3 words: Throne of Darkness. Its a Diablo 2 style game [core programmer was the same dood apparently].

You control a bunch of Japanese Samurai and you fight all kinds of monsters including humans etc.

Its cheap too, should only be $10 or so in the US.

If you liked Diablo and Diablo 2 I would try Sacred. Most places you can get Sacred for about $20.00 and now they have an expansion, Sacred Underworld for I think around $30.00. Very much like Diablo 2 and lots of sidequests in addition to the main quest. There are also varying levels of difficulty you can try. I've been playing about a year now and really enjoy it. There is also online play if you feel the need, but singleplayer is challenging and fun.

Two Action RPGs like Diablo 2 are Sacred, and Dungeon Siege or Dungeon Siege II

I have a strange feeling the OP is not going to respond to a post...3 years and 9 months later. (Just jokin.)

The guy with the post from earlier 2006 was right on the money though. I picked up TQ: Gold for $10 on steam a few months ago. In some ways though I thought it was actually better than D2.

Fate, but you have to pay for it. It's pretty good though, better than Diablo in a bunch of ways but also not as good in some others. If you have the money, it's worth it. It's a lot of killing, but it doesn't have much of a plot, if you like that. Which I am definitely okay without, but that's me.
Also, Diablo III is coming out at some point soon-ish, but it's got really good graphics so it's not exactly for old or crappy computers. I think this Diablo actually uses a graphics driver this time, so you have to have a pretty good one, and it uses a bunch of RAM so you need a lot of that also.
