hey guys, thanks in advance for reading this :)

i recently got myself a pentiumD 805 (guess what i also read the article in thg :) ) anyways, this means i need to get myself a decent set of dual ddr2 667

ive been looking arround on the net a while but didnt find any solution that made me really happy

this is why i came to the point to ask here, and here it follows :)

im looking for really decent performance and seen a few sets with 3-3-3-10, a few with 3-3-3-12 some with 4-4-4-8 and 4-3-3-8 which would be the best of those? any ideas?

thanks for all replys in advance

If your planning on playing games on that pc then 2x1Gb of ram should be good. But if you need just 1Gb then get 1Gb of ram not 2x512Mb. Why because in the future if you ugrade it's better to have 2x1Gb than 4x512Mb for they run at different clock cycles. 2x1Gb runs at 1T while 4x512Mb runs at slower 2T and the difference is about 3-5% on performance. 2x1Gb is better also at overclocking.

However, if your not planning on overclocking your cpu then a more affordable 2x1Gb of Corsair Value Select rams are great. I have tried this rams on my set up and I am able to play games like BF2 and FEAR at high settings. Performance wise, it is slower than the XMS2 series.

So it's up to you.

thanks again m8 :)

indeed i will use this pc for games, nearly just for games to be honest, thats also why im not sure, or was not :) but now i know that 2x1gig runs at T1 which is (to me at least) a lot better than 4x512 @ t2

oh and i forgot to say, im gonna oc the pc quite a bit...for the start ill try to keep it perfectly stable at 3.33ghz, maybe in the future when i can afford a nice watercooling set ill try to aim higher but in this case i can still sell the set that i will get myself now/soon.

doh i hate decitions like this one :)
