I'm unsure where to post this question, so sorry if I'm in the wrong place. I have a Sennheiser Headset with one ear piece and a mic that I intended to use for Skype. My question is how in Windows 7 would I configure my headset to only receive the skype audio, and rest of the audio go through my speakers. Looks like it is not possible, but I'm not sure. I mean, if an XBOX can do it, why couldn't a PC right?

I don't think that is possible right now, but there may be software updates that allow it later. Depends on the motherboard...

If they both use 3.5mm jack than there will never be a way. You can get a usb to 3.5mm sound cards pretty cheap(I bought a headset that came with it.), and I'm sure there are some other external sound cards but you need multiple sound cards to separate each output, at least for 3.5mm.
