turn off all background processes, eg: firewall anti virus and the lot, see if u can get 28s on the 1M pi
btw very nice oc! congrats! i can get 2.6 on my 3000+ venice stable, but i prefer 1.8 @ 1.1vcore since my room gets hot in the summer and im on stock cooling

I have air cooling too and I hate that noise too. At 2.66GHz I am runing my rig stable at 1.475v and with Q-fan enabled I hear almost no noise from my 90mm CPU cooler. Where I live there are high temperatures also, but I am absend during the summer and I use nootbooks.
I turned off all the unessential services before I did the benchmarks, but there is no way to achieve 28s with my memory latencies. Maybe with CAS2 2-2-5 CR1 at that freqfrency or with those latencies, but at 560Mhz(HTT:RAM=1;1) I can do the SPi1M for less than 28s.
