Hello all, anyone know how to go about taking a windows dynamic disk raid 1 (mirrored) pair of disks and putting them into another system for recovery of data?

they were hosted on a modified XP pro machine (using this very useful TH article: http://tomshardware.co.uk/2004/11/19/using_windowsxp_to_make_raid_5_happen/page2.html)

Many thanks
Charlie

Happy to say i've resolved this. quite straight forward really, just did 3 things:

1) made my personal xp pro machine a RAID server also. By altering the files as referenced in the article at the link above. see * below
2) put the raid pair into my desktop machine and started disk mgmnt. It then saw the pair and said "synching" for about 2 hours (160GB) then said healthy and online. but couldnt access them so..
3) a good ol' restart had them back up and available for use.

*with respect to sorting the full software RAID thing on XP a much easier route than hex editing jobby is to visit this nice guy's site and use his ready made ones, they're for XP SP2 as well.

http://members.home.nl/rvandesanden/raid3.html (they're about 3/4 of the way down the page and are a downloadable .rar file). Then use either a boot disk or the AMAZING Bart PE CDrom to make the necesary copies of the files.
