Is my 9800XT broken?

Last night I started getting glitches all over the screen, I was even getting them in the BIOS screens!

Web windows and files/folders etc have no glitches on them.

This morning I tried loading Google Earth, but it crashed, stating it could not load because of Direct X. I couldn't even use the Start button (guessing there's some Direct X features on my Window Blinds desktop).

Is there anything I can do to check for sure if its my card as I obviously don't want to go out and buy a new card if it's then not going to work.

Any suggestions are welcome.

check to make sure your video card is not over heating. Make sure the fan works and it is within normal temps.

I had to replace a video card in my laptop a while back because I kept getting blue line all over all my screens and games.

Make sure that the fan isn't clogged with dust; if it is, then it might not spin, which would cause the card to overheat.

have you adjusted the engine clock or engine core with any software programs like pstrip and others?
