Hi,

How do I change the background of windows-mobile 2003 SE (on my ipaq
3715). i've tried to google but couldnt find the answer.

I want to put a photo instead of the active background that is present
by default.

thanks

This didnt do anything :(

I've installed it, but i guess the 3715 already has it since it didnt
create any new icons (just left the old "today" icon under
settings->personal).

also - i am not certain what *IS* the "today" option, it is setup to
display after 4 hours of inactivity but it never did...

when i change the today background (using the today icon under
settings) all that is changed is the color of the "start"-bar on the
top of the screen and of the menu's, the desktop background with the
"photosmart", "nevo" , "photo's" and "mobile media" doesnt change.

plus - when i click "today" under the start menu, nothing happends.

any suggestions, im totaly lost.

thanks
LT

If the start menu disappears and you're put back on the Today Screen
then that's good, because it works as designed.
The 'Today' screen is your 'desktop' on the PPC, it has certain items
on it like Owner info, Calendar, Pocket Outlook, Tasks, etc. and
anything you put there yourself.
You can use a background image for this screen (e.g. a Wallpaper) which
can be set under Start|Settings|Today, wallpapers are either expected
as a single picture file like jpg or gif, or as a '.tsk' file.
Setting the Today screen to appear after 4 hours of inactivity seems
rather long.. set it to something lower and see if it works and puts
you back on the Today screen if something else is on screen (like Pword)
In my experience the 'inactivity' is usually when the device is 'off'
(it's never really off, just looks that way) and when I turn it on the
next time it'll show me the Today screen.
You said the background image wouldn't change, have you tried soft
resetting after setting the image? this might help. Also, check to see
if the image is not too large for the display in both physical measurement
and byte size. a photo of good proportion may take a while to load
if at all. your screen's size in pixels limits your viewing area too.
few random thoughts.

As I tried to say before - (and now after i read what you said im now
certain) - that the today screen has *NEVER* shown on my ipaq.

from the first time i powered it up the desktop background is some kind
of active-desktop that contains 4 images that are shortcut to several
apps like nevo or the photosmart-camera.

(please see the image on this page -
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1657065,00.asp?p=2
this is the desktop background i have, each picture runs a program)

i have never got the today application working, i've waited 12 hours
but it didnt run, and i've tried executing it and still nothing.

when i change the background image of the "today" in settings, the
menu's and upper line colors do change colors (i tried both default
schemes and a photo of my own) but no "today" app actualy appears.

also - im still trying to change the background of the desktop (not
just the today... or are they the same thing ?)

thanks
LT

ouh, P.S. incase you forgot and it matters, as i mentioned on my first
message - im working on windows-mobile 2003 CE.

thanks again
