Hello all, I finally got a router and it is working great for DSL sharing, with one little hitch. Every time I restart the computer, I also have to reset (using the pinhole) the router. Otherwise the connection to the PC is dead.

The way I have it set up is that my computer uses a static IP of 192.168.1.99 and this is also used for the DMZ. It is a Linksys BEFSR41 4-port cable/dsl router. I just updated the firmware, no help.

what do you mean "dead"? Can you ping the router?

Yes, I can ping the router and get to its web configurator, but I cannot get any traffic outside, e.g. trying to browse returns a site not found error.

what about if you just repower the router. Does that also fix the problem?

Your router is probably set to only accept traffic from the addresses it has leased out. Try setting your pc to dhcp and see if that works.

P.S. Are you saying you are using the address 192.168.1.99 for both your DMZ and your PC, or that the pc is in the DMZ?
