Ok my friend is thinking about buying a vid card x800gto (agp), for his 2 year old computer, is it necassary for it to be attached to the extra 4 pin power on the card or it could run without it?

The agp X800GTO does require power form a standard 4-pin connector.

BTW I have a Sapphire AGP X800GTO. Doesn't overclock much but unlocked to 16 pixel pipes. :D

If he is buying it new (not used or refurbished) it should come with the 12v power adapter/splitter/ extension cable. He'd be good to go assuming his power supply has the juice needed.

ohh ok thanks but the thing is his power supply is 300 watt, so if it doesnt work we have to get him a power supply :?
