I am finally retiring my old p4 northwood 2.4 400mhz.
I have a 2 year old Antec case with a 350w Truepower ps.
My new computer will be:

MSI K9N NEO-F AM2 NFORCE 550MCP
AMD SEMPRON 3600+ AM2
OCZ GOLD 2X512 DDR2 800
EVGA 7600GT 256MB PCIE
ONBOARD SOUND
1 WD 80GB 7200 8MB HARDRIVE
1 SONY DL DVDRW

Thats it, there is no other hardware. Would I be ok to try the old powersupply out or do I absolutely have to buy a new one to put this thing together next week. I dont ever plan on sli or anything. Thanks.

I have a 350 watt antec myself and I run

7800 GC

sata 160 gb

Yes it should power it okay. I have a older rig with Pentium D 840 and 7800GT and sound card and the 350Watts PSU runs it all fine. I positive that your PSU should be able to handle those components.

D, your 350 PSU will be okay for now. ...and you can likely safely base your new rig on it...but. That's right, "but". I believe in slight overkill, just to feel more comfortable. You can get a higher-rated modular PSU and annihilate the clutter of those unused connections while leaving more room for growth. If you're on a budget though...and, in answer, to your initial ?...your 350w should fit the bill fine for now.

It will work fine. But why the Sempron; you can get an A64 3200+ (socket AM2) for $140 on newegg. Just look here. On newegg, that Sempron is $149.

Well I can get the Sempron 64 3600+ retail for $120 w/ free shipping at monarch. Newegg isnt always the cheapest. :?
I want to go cheap, this system will be upgradeable for some time. I can get a dual core later for cheap. :D
