compatibility advice needed.

I've built a system designed for games and massive storage, and originally purchased a promise supertrak 8350 and 5 WD 3200KS's. I returned the supertrak because it had horrible write performance and promise refused to acknologe the issue. I'm thinking of stepping up to an areca arc-1230. Here's my question.
My mobo is an A8N Sli premium. THe bios is version 1011 beta 006. If anyone has used this card for a win xp pro system, please let me know on the performance of it. THank you.
