According to a story in the inq Inq story

'ATI can already put two X1800 GTO cards in Crossfire and it doesn’t need a master card, but the bandwidth between those two cards is not that big. Therefore two slave cards will work and will do the job, we tried it here in the lab and it works' :!: :!:

does this make it likely that i could get a 2nd x850xt slave and get crossfire working on an appropiate board :?: :?:

or the dafter question is that would there be any point trying to CF a x850xt & a x800xl (oc'd to x850xt speeds) 8O :?

The only Radeons that don't need crossfire master cards to work in crossfire are the X1300, the X1600, the X1800 GTO (accroding to this areticle), and the upcoming R600 (Probably going to be called the Radeon X2x00 series)

damn... am gonna just haveta save up for a 580CF board & a 1900?? (by the time i have the cash, they are bound to 'invent' another 1900 card to sell)
