Splendid
An AMD Athlon 64 3200+ socket 754 Clawhammer. Im not thinking about any harcore OCing though.

Have you considered upgrading to S939?

It is much better.

Supports Dual Channel RAM ( 128bit ), Dual Core CPUs and has an upgrade path :-D

The ASRock 939Dual can even upgrade to AM2

Your research is correct, the non-SE board is a better deal and has more features. The SE board was released specifically for Sempron support, but with more recent bios versions, both boards support the Sempron processor. You should definitely get the K8N4-E based on your requirements and the fact that it is cheaper with more features.
