Was thinking of getting a new mouse for playing delta force 2 and other FPS. Is a optical mouse really better than my basic logitech 2 button wheel mouse and if so which one? I think logitech makes 2 cordless optical mice and Microsoft 1 or two. Please help, thank you.

I'd get a mouseman dual optical. It's got 2 lasers, mad precision, and fast reaction. It's really a great mouse, certianly good for games.

Only if you let me see the Umpa Lumpa- Homer Simpson.

If it's got a wheel on it I'm happy. Guess I havn't been exposed to great mouse that would make me think otherwise. Of course I'm still using a packard bell keyboard so my opinion may not be worth much.

I'd go to a Staples to check out the comfort of current mice. Then whatever is left read reviews for. My Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer just died. It was my fault because of the way I had the cord. Too much pulling on it. So I desided to get the Wireless Intellimouse Explorer. The mouse comfortable mouse I haev every held. Its retail price is like $75 but you can get it on www.pricewatch.com for like $50.

The intellimouse is a piece of crap compared to the logitech... I know cause I have one (got it as a gift) I'm looking forward to getting a Mouseman optical to replace the Microsoft. For $80 I think the intellimouse cordless was a rip off, it feels so cheap. If it only cost $30 or $35 bucks I wouldn't think it was bad, but it doesn't. The mouse really isn't all that impressive in games, I really hate when it goes into sleep mode when you don't have your hand completely on it (supposed to save battery life but I don't notice much difference from my friends logitech mouse). For the money I really think Logitech makes the best mouse, granted some people like the Razor Boomslang but I really don't care for the ergo's. Just my opinion.

My dad use a logitech cordless and the battery doesn't last long at all. Maybe it would be better with a set of quality rc batteries, but if you add all the cost up it doesn't worth it (mouse+battery+charger). I don't like cordless, have no cable drag problem so see no use getting one for myself.

I got my eyes on the logitech dual opt. with cord, sweet looking toy with a thumb button to piss you off hitting it by accident. I like it a lot.

Got my first optical mouse because the logitech gaming mouse I used died (too much shooting and switch inside died), but I had enough of cleaning the wheels and the ball all the time. The optical slide better on my desk (no ball = less friction), doesn't need a mousepad at all. But I still have to clean the rubber feet once a while, it picks up everything and after a while stop sliding well.

If I could find somebody who can cut two small bearing balls in half, I wouldn't have any cleaning problem anymore, also it would slide like crazy. (now watch some company coming out with a mouse using bearing balls for feet instead of the plastic pads)

Well "personally" I find the Logitech mice to be too small for my hands. And I can't use something I'm not comfortable using. I'm sure a Porche is a great car but someone like myself that is 6'4" can't fit in it.

You should go and see it in the store, the dual opt bigger than the regular logi mouse. Not as big as the MS rat, but that thing is just too huge anyway (unless you use it for attacking somebody, swing it! LOL).
