RAID controllers permit you to mix RAID and non RAID. Sometimes you disable RAID for the channels the non-RAID drive is on, sometimes you have to add the drive to a single drive array.
If XP has the drivers for the SATA controller you boot drive is on you are good to go. If not you need to press F6 and load the CORRECT driver for the CORRECT controller from a @#%# internal floppy disk drive when prompted.
Yes is 2006 and you still need an internal floppy disk drive thanks to Microsoft.
If you did things right XP will see your drive.
When installing XP always disconnect any additional hard drives. That way nothing can go wrong.
